Documents Needed to Rent a Car in Lahore: The Full Checklist

The single most common reason a booking gets delayed at handover is a missing or expired document. Here’s the full checklist, split by nationality.

Pakistani Nationals

Valid CNIC, and a driving licence held for at least one year if booking self-drive. No documents are required for chauffeur-driven bookings beyond basic contact details.

Foreign Nationals

Valid passport, and a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) if booking self-drive. Without an IDP, self-drive isn’t possible — a chauffeur-driven booking is the alternative.

Bring originals, not photocopies — verification happens at handover regardless of what was shared earlier in the booking conversation.
